A Ton Tou!

Matt Darey - Image from Myspace I found this podcast to be one of Matt's most exciting ones yet. After only a few moments it was easy to hear why it was nominated. If you have not heard this mix you you *must* get a copy, and hear it for yourself. My description in a few words: Ardently Passionate, Bad @ssed, Intense, L337, Beautiful ...

While I was downloading this podcast, I fiendishly tried to play it with winamp to take a peek. Huh?!..it played! Yah I knew would. A stark realization occurred to me, what happens if I start it and have to stop it because its still streaming down? I giggled with diabolical glee as I waited. After it was done I started it up and tuned the EQ knowing this is 'special' muahahah!
For the first few minutes I continue banging out a few more lines of code and bumping along.. As usual Mr. Darey delivers, then about 17 mins through I hear this creepy alien mix cascading through..

Has anyone inquired yet?! You bet your wild monkey.. Matt has created a serious buzz with his San Fran tour throughout the underground. Hackers across the world want to know more due to the elite publishing and inet ads. I have been slow to respond to the clamour due to the holidays and production of a few web projects; its been a long time over due anticipate more from a real rising phoenix.

..Sharing Perspectives - Aug 18,2007 Today I woke up thinking, if one actually measures experiences in the larger scale of things its so easy to realize life is too short... Happy Birthday! I decide to take a look around not through my eyes, but through another's. Wobbling through cyberspace I stumbled along a few images worth note..

Post Nuke Comic - Apr. 7,2008
This is a online comic book created by Andreas Duller. I have only had the time to read the first chapter, but the story seems quite interesting.

Check out the Post-Nuke Online Comic.
Place a pre-order for Post Nuke Issue#1.
The online versions of the comics are not as polished as the intended printed versions yet the author maintains a clear story which captures attention right from the start.

Young Ivy - Ground Up Grind vol.1 - Aug 26,2007
Most people I speak to have not heard of Young Ivy, not surprisingly I continue to hear "..yeah, his music is hot.". I have recently had the chance to listen to a copy of Ivy's new album which is available for download here.
Clearly an established artist I anticipate hearing more big things about him really soon. He brings a clear style and refreshing contact to rap that must be heard. I loved the samples used in the track dangerous, thats tight.
Comments from others::
"Holding it down lyrically wherever he appears, the Swedish-born, Bay Area-bred Simon T, also known as Young Ivy League, is an international veteran in his own right."

9/11 at the Toronto International Film Festival - sept.11,2007
I was recently checking out show times for some of the film appearing at tiff '07 (www) and found this movie playing. It was not the movie per say that caught my attention, but the director, Gavin Hood.

Dir. Gavin Hood
Feature - Rendition (2007)
Feature - Tsotsi (2005) - People’s Choice Award at the Festival in 2005 and went on to win the Academy Award® for best foreign-language film.
Feature - In Desert and Wilderness (2001)
Feature - A Reasonable Man (1999)
First short film - The Storekeeper(1998)
He had directed another film - which was seriously deep - Tsotsi (2005, South Africa). I had only seen the film earlier this year, despite its release 2 years ago. In Tsotsi , he brought a stark reality and heart warming sense of passion to the story being told, that he makes you just give in to his perception.. truly powerful story.

Screen from the movie.
All this leads me to suggesting another look see at one of his new films "Rendition" that was shown at this years tiff.
Ebonite for Winamp by ~WinstonGFX on deviantART
Comments from www.tiff.ca - "The title of this all-too-timely political thriller refers to "extraordinary rendition," the policy by which alleged terrorists can be extradited to foreign prisons and tortured without their country of origin's legal constraints getting in the way. Rendition is director Gavin Hood's searing follow-up to Tsotsi, the 2005 Festival's People's Choice Award-winner and the 2005 Academy Award-winner for best foreign language film. Reese Witherspoon, Meryl Streep and Jake Gyllenhaal headline this urgent look at the abuses justified in the name of the so-called War on Terror.
